BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY is a contemporary swing band, who has been on the scene since 1993. Their irresistible live show and aggressive, musically perceptive approach has made them a standout act among the numerous bands that launched the nineties swing revival. The 7-piece was launched into stardom when two of their songs were featured in the 1996 film, Swingers. Since then, the band has gone on to sell more than two million copies of their albums, receive national critical acclaim, and have their music featured in over sixty movies and television shows.

The band was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist, Scotty Morris, and drummer, Kurt Sodergren, in 1989. They released two albums under their own label, Big Bad Records, before getting their big break with the song placements in Swingers. The band was then signed to Capitol Records, where they went on to release several albums. They appeared in the 1999 Superbowl half-time show, and have most recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Big Bad VooDoo Daddy’s most recent release is titled How Big Can You Get?: The Music of Cab Calloway. The album, “captures the essence of an American icon in a rowdy celebration of musicianship, mischief, genius, street smarts, and fun.”
