Yea, I do recommend you check it out. We go out downtown to party once a month or so and because we live in Del Mar we just get a hotel and avoid the costly cab/sedan/limo ride. During late nightclub hours it's difficult to make your way to the roof-top bar because of the popularity amongst locals and travelers. What i've discovered is that staying at the hotel guarantees access to the roof-top's amazing atmosphere and view.
