Ramona is well-known for its natural land and many equestrian activities. With several riding trails, a Ramona Rodeo in May, and its “Country Fair days” in August; Ramona is the perfect place for San Diego horse aficionados. A local landmark for Ramona is the Verlaque House, the only western adobe home of French provincial design still in existence. Ramona is also home to many wineries and vineyards. Ramona is infamously known to be the location of the 2003 San Diego Cedar fire, and Ramona’s vast natural beauty and many buildings were again affected by the 2007 Witch Creek wildfire.
