Mission Beach Attractions

Nestled between Mission Bay and Pacific Beach, Mission Beach spans two miles of ocean, paralleled by a swathe of upscale residential complexes along the coast. Along the historic boardwalk, the famous amusement park, Belmont Park, features a 73-foot-tall Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, opened in May of 1925, as well as other park rides. To the south, a volleyball Mecca has emerged on the beach. A local skating club, “Skate This,” performs tricks on rollerblades and skates for free on weekends. Nightlife is a relaxed and laidback affair, reflecting the beach culture.
