Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach is a favorite spot of San Diego locals. The park itself encompasses over 68 acres of bluffs and walking path dozens of feet above the Pacific. Explore the bluffs from the car while driving along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard or take a bike or your running shoes for an up-close and personal encounter. Sunset Cliffs are a great place for anyone who loves photography or who just wants to impress their date. People who visit Sunset Cliffs will have the chance to bird watch or in the winter months observe the migration of the Gray whales. While extremely beautiful, the Sunset Cliffs is not the most accessible place. Its hard to get to the beaches and the tides can be dangerous, visitors should proceed with the utmost caution and it might be best for children and handicapped people to observe from the car. If you’re taking the car and then going on foot, there are parking lots located at both the north and south ends of the cliffs. There are no lifeguards on duty and its best to stick to trails that feel safe and never try to climb up the side of the cliffs.
