Editorial Review of Knott's Soak City

Knott’s Soak City in San Diego is the perfect destination for a family getaway. Visitors can also enjoy their day at Knott’s Soak City with friends and loved ones. The water amusement park has won awards for its high safety level and offers nearly a dozen different and exciting rides.  The Gremmie Lagoon is an area designed for smaller children to get acquainted to the water park style, and the Sunset River –is a 1/3 mile long continuous circuit lazy river for relaxed tubing  which also accommodates younger kids. The Toyota Beach House  is a three-story family fun area and splash zone that has two beginner slides—also perfect for young children and their families. The Malibu Run features four (more advanced and adventurous) slides: the Dropoff, the Wave Chaser, the Heavy Swell, and the Rincon. The Old Man Falls is a 62-foot high trio of speed slides perfect for advanced riders seeking a thrill. The Laguna Storm Watch Tower features three completely enclosed slides (also for the more advanced riders) and Banzai Falls offers families a chance to be adventurous together and take a six-lane waterslide race down bumps. Tidal Wave Bay is a 750,000 gallon wave pool that tosses swimmers about like the ocean, and the Pacific Spin features an enclosed tube dropping into a six-story funnel; riders rock up and down the sides of the funnel and eventually fall through the center of it into a pool. A large variety of rides to choose from makes Knott’s Soak City the perfect destination for visitors of all ages.

Added 05/17/11 Not Soakin' fun

I'm not much of a water park person, and this place just proved it to me. I took my niece and nephews and a couple of their friends and even they said that they've had fun at other water parks. There is a very limited amount of rides available, so the kids seemed to get bored after maybe halfway through the day. As an adult, I felt that the waterpark could definitely use a little sprucing up, the rides had worn out paint jobs, and it just made me feel like it hadn't been maintained. Yes it is on the cheaper side when it comes to water parks, but like the saying goes you definitely get what you paid for.
