Editorial Review of
Julian
When San Diegans think of pie, they think of nowhere else but Julian. Julian got its start as a mining town about an hour east of the City of San Diego. People love to visit Julian not just for its apple pies, however, Julian is a natural gem and retreat from busy city life. The season changes are clear and visible with beautiful flowers in the spring and golden red and orange leaves on the trees in the fall. Julian is perfect for a getaway without totally getting away since there are nearby casinos and lots of specialty shops to check out. Julian has everything you could want to check out from apple orchards to art galleries, bird watching excursions to fishing and horseback riding. One of its coolest attractions is the California Wolf Center where visitors can observe and learn about the resident wolves and wild wolves as well. If animals don’t make the itinerary then there’s sure fun to be had at the Old Time Melodrama theater in October where all proceeds are donated to community scholarships. Julian has wine tasting, live music and there’s always something going on. It’s a wonderful place to visit with loved ones young and old alike just make sure you get one of their famous pies to have at one of their many bed and breakfasts.
