Right behind Mission Beach is the famous Mission Bay, which allows guests to rent out a variety of water crafts to enjoy or to stay land-locked and enjoy the view from the surrounding park. Just minutes away from the bay lies Pacific Beach, which is home to a killer casual nightlife scene. Second only to Downtown San Diego in terms of nightlife, patrons down to party will usually find themselves in Pacific Beach, seeking refuge from the many hot clubs and lively bars after a long day on the shore. La Jolla and Del Mar are two of the more affluent coastal communities in San Diego county. La Jolla, whose beaches and shoreline have been a top vacation destination since the late 1800?s, plays host to an impressive array of high-class dining and shopping options. Del Mar, most notable for their annual, world-famous Del Mar Fair and horse races is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in North County. While the beaches of San Diego may seem similar from a distance, these coastal cities are each brimming with their own personalities and deserve to be checked out in full.
